As part of joining the unified energy system of Central Asia, Tajikistan supplied electricity to Uzbekistan, Mahmadumar Asozoda, head of the state national energy company of Tajikistan Barki Tojik, said on February 14, Asia-Plus news agency reported.
Asozoda said that in January, Tajikistan supplied electricity to Uzbekistan as part of the preparatory work.
He clarified that in order to restore the parallel operation of Tajikistan’s energy sector in the regional system, there are certain requirements – Tajikistan must supply up to 10 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to Uzbekistan and up to 5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity to Kyrgyzstan every month.
At the same time, Asozoda said that Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan should return the received volumes of electricity to Tajikistan next month.
